IRVINE, CA (August 13, 2024) – The last time the AMA Superbike Championship raced at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, a baby-faced, 24-year-old named Josh Herrin was struggling his way through a miserable Moto2 World Championship campaign and wishing he was at Mid-Ohio. That was 2014. This is now. And Herrin arrives at Mid-Ohio as the leader of the 2024 MotoAmerica Steel Commander Superbike Championship in the series’ return to the Buckeye State after a 10-year hiatus.

It took Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha’s Josh Hayes virtually all of the 2013 AMA Superbike Championship to gain back the points lost in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. At Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Hayes finally took over the lead in the championship after the first of two races – by just a single point over Yoshimura Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas.

LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 31, 2024) - Permco has been announced as the title sponsor of the MotoAmerica Championship event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Aug. 16-18. The race weekend will feature the first Superbike racing action at the legendary road course in North Central Ohio since 2014 and will be called Permco MotoAmerica Superbikes at Mid-Ohio.Â
