CHARLOTTE (Oct. 1, 2025) – Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC) have unveiled their 2026 race schedules, mixing some of the most iconic circuits in North America with some of the best training grounds for young talent.
Serving as America’s Road to F1, each championship’s calendar will focus on driver development and competition, as FR Americas contests a total of 21 rounds at eight tracks, F4 U.S. provides drivers 18 rounds at seven tracks, and Ligier JFC offers 16 rounds at six tracks.
“We’re really looking forward to 2026 with FR Americas, F4 U.S. and Ligier JFC,” said Scott Goodyear, race director. “With circuits like Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Barber Motorsports Park included on the schedule, we have some tough tracks that we know will challenge our drivers, and we’ll be able to see them develop over the course of those weekends. Likewise, there are few places in America that hold the same significance as Indianapolis Motor Speedway and racing across the yard of bricks.
"We incorporated feedback from our community as we built these schedules, and we’re really excited for what’s planned. Each championship continues to deliver great value, with the lowest cost per mile compared to other professional racing series in North America, as well as the other Formula 4 and Formula Regional championships around the globe. Pair that with the impressive wheel-to-wheel competition like we’ve seen year after year, and you’ll find that our series are a superb training ground for young drivers.”
The 2026 season will open in New Orleans, with NOLA Motorsports Park serving as the backdrop for both a pre-season test and the NOLA SpeedTour weekend. Then, it’s off to Elkhart Lake and the famed Road America, where all three championships will host their second event. As summer heats up, everyone will head to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. After that, FR Americas will race across the yard of bricks on the IMS Road Course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as they contest their solo back-to-back run. Then, the three championships will reunite at New Jersey Motorsports Park, before FR Americas and F4 U.S. head north of the border to take on Canadian Tire Motorsport Park over Labor Day weekend. From there, all three series are off to VIRginia International Raceway, before closing out the year and crowning the 2026 champions at Barber Motorsports Park in mid-October.
The eight-month season will provide young drivers with ample track time to develop their skills, while the near-monthly cadence allows their families to balance life on and off the racetrack. Likewise, operating at the lowest cost per mile in North America allows participating drivers to further spread their resources, giving them more opportunities to hone their skills through track time and testing programs with some of the top race teams in North America.
With eight FIA-certified tracks on the docket, the variety of circuits prepares drivers to climb the ranks, as many of the facilities are mainstays on the INDYCAR and IMSA schedules. The championships consistently produce high-level drivers, which has attracted IMSA teams to start their own formula racing programs to train drivers, and has INDYCAR teams looking in the championships’ paddocks to fuel their own driver development programs, as Chip Ganassi Racing has done with Kiwi Motorsport.

Ligier JFC, as well as the FIA-certified F4 U.S. and FR Americas, combine to form a powerful driver development ladder. Graduates of the championships have consistently advanced their careers, with alumni among the starting fields of the Indianapolis 500, IndyCar, FIA Formula 3, IMSA, NASCAR, Super Formula, Indy NXT and more. One of the most influential ways that ladder provides a forward trajectory is through its scholarship programs, which include everything from year-end champion scholarships to a karts-to-cars scholarship program. Details regarding the 2026 scholarship programs and opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks.
