The soaking-wet 1996 AMA Superbike race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course was nothing if not a complete and utter debacle. The race was won by Yoshimura Suzuki’s Pascal Picotte after a second red flag stoppage when Vance & Hines Yamaha’s Jamie James crashed in spectacular fashion in the last corner, prompting AMA officials to finally put a stop to the proceedings.

In 1992, an 18-year-old Colin Edwards won the AMA 250cc Grand Prix National Championship in his first attempt. That title led him to a Superbike ride on the Vance & Hines Yamaha team and with that came great expectations. In his rookie Superbike season, the young Texan failed to win a race and there were a lot of “I told you so’s.”

NBC Sports, INDYCAR Announce INDY NXT by Firestone Schedule on Peacock

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024) – NBC Sports and INDYCAR revealed the schedule for the 2024 INDY NXT by Firestone season, with all 14 races streaming live in the United States on Peacock.

The season for INDYCAR’s official development series starts Sunday, March 10 on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., with coverage beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Peacock. The series then will criss-cross the United States for the next six months, with the season finale Sunday, Sept. 15 at Nashville Superspeedway.
