Riley Pegram, a native of Hebron, Ohio, is a rising talent in sports car racing and a fourth-generation racer carrying forward a deep-rooted family legacy in motorsports. Growing up immersed in the racing world, Pegram spent her childhood at racetracks, where the energy, atmosphere, and intensity of the sport turned a family tradition into a personal calling. The energy, atmosphere, and intensity of that experience transformed the sport from a family tradition into a personal calling.

Her early racing experiences were marked by rapid growth, including a strong debut weekend where she won her heat race and secured a fourth-place finish in her first event. Pegram officially began her racing career at 16 in karting, starting with a Briggs 206 before quickly advancing through the ranks to KA100 Senior and Pro Shifter within just two years. Guided and inspired by her father, Larry Pegram, whose perseverance and career have been a constant source of motivation, she developed a fearless approach to competition.Â
Transitioning from karting to sports cars, Pegram entered the professional racing scene with limited sports car experience but quickly proved her ability to adapt and compete at a high level. She launched her sports car career in a Porsche Cayman GT4 with MDK Motorsports before discovering a passion for endurance racing during her first endurance event at Mid-Ohio. Determined to improve her skills, Riley gained valuable track time by racing and testing an Audi TCR car alongside her father.
Pegram’s progression through the motorsports ranks has been both rapid and impressive. She has competed in a variety of series, including Skusa Karting, Porsche Sprint Challenge, the FIA TCR World Tour, World Racing League, and IMSA. In a bold move that underscored her ambition and leadership, she founded her own team, Pegram Racing, and now serves as both driver and team owner. As of 2026, the team competes in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR class in partnership with Honda Racing Corporation and Lindsay Honda Acura, where she races alongside her father.
Among her growing list of accomplishments, Pegram has earned multiple top-five finishes in IMSA competition and made history as the first female driver to compete in the FIA TCR World Tour. Her career continues to reflect a pattern of exceeding expectations and competing at levels beyond her years of experience.
Off the track, Pegram is equally passionate about driver development and safety. She began instructing at The Mid-Ohio School in 2025, returning to a program that played a pivotal role in her own development as a young driver. Having attended the Teen Defensive Driving Program, she now dedicates her time to teaching the next generation, at the same class she attended years ago.
“I attended the school myself at 15 while I still had my permit, and I’ve seen firsthand how valuable it is in helping young drivers become safer and more confident on the road,” Pegram said. “It’s an incredible opportunity for the next generation, including my 16-year-old sister, who recently completed the program as well.”
“I enjoy watching students gain confidence throughout the day and begin to understand how the cars they drive every day actually work,” Pegram said. “The advanced driving programs are always great as well, but nothing compares to the peace of mind that comes from knowing we may be helping prevent future crashes and making young drivers safer on the road.”
Pegram’s connection to Mid-Ohio runs deep, not only as a competitor but as an instructor. She credits the people at the track from instructors to corner workers for creating an environment that makes every visit meaningful. With a combination of talent, determination, and a commitment to giving back, Riley Pegram is quickly establishing herself as a standout figure in the next generation of motorsports. Come watch her race in the 2026 season-opening event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course during the O'Reilly Auto Parts Four Hours of Mid-Ohio, June 5-7.
