LEXINGTON, Ohio (July 4, 2017) – For the 23rd consecutive year, American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) Vintage Motorcycle Days overtakes Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend, July 7-9, for one of summer’s premier motorcycle gatherings in the U.S. This must-do motorcycling event serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit AMA Hall of Fame.
For 2017, AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring Riders of Kawasaki, celebrates the riders and machines that have made Kawasaki motorcycles famous for more than five decades in America. In addition, the AMA affinity group for fans of Kawasaki — ROK, Powered by the AMA — also will be front and center throughout the event.
The off track attractions will be even more numerous than the racing action with a swap meet filled with nearly 1,000 vendors, bike shows, demo rides on the latest motorcycle models from GasGas, Janus, KTM, and Zero, plus motorcycle seminars. Two entertainment options include live music and the American Motor Drome Wall of Death. Riders can even take a “Lap for History” around the race track on their motorcycle during the lunch break each day with a donation to the AMA Hall of Fame.
The racing action will be diverse. Road racing takes place on the 2.4-mile, 15-turn permanent road course as usual, but on Mid-Ohio’s natural terrain, there will be motocross, hare scrambles, and trials. Dirt flat track racing happens on Saturday evening at the Ashland County Fairgrounds.
A weekend general admission pass is $60, a single-day admission for Friday or Saturday is $40 and a single-day admission for Sunday is $35. Children 12 and under always receive free general admission at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Garage paddock access is free during AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Motorhome and tent camping is available. To purchase tickets in advance, visit midohio.com or call 419-884-4000 during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, Monday to Friday.
