LEXINGTON, OH, October 28, 2014 - One of North America's most competitive race tracks has teamed up with Tough Mudder, the world’s largest endurance event series, to host "Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet". Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course announced today that it will host Ohio’s 2015 Tough Mudder event at its park-like 330-acre complex, May 9 and 10, 2015. This is the first time that the facility has hosted the 10-12 mile obstacle course.
"We are excited to be the site of Ohio's Tough Mudder challenge next spring," said Craig Rust, President for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. "Our track is no stranger to fast, adrenaline-pumping events and we feel our facility will provide the perfect backdrop for this event."
Tough Mudder participants will have their need for speed met when the series takes over Mid-Ohio. With exhilarating new obstacles and the muddiest track in the Mid-west, the obstacle course will be designed to test strength, stamina, teamwork and mental grit, taking place over winding tracks, rolling hills and dense woods.
“At Tough Mudder, we’re focused on bringing participants the most innovative and exciting courses in the world,” said Ben Johnson, Head of Communications at Tough Mudder. “Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course offers an ideal setting for an event that will push both new and returning participants to their limits. We can’t wait to return to the Mansfield area.”
